Armourcoat at Material Lab

Armourcoat are pleased to announce our partnership with Material Lab in London.
Material Lab was created by award-winning Johnson Tiles, the UK’s largest manufacturer and importer of ceramic wall and floor tiles, to answer the needs of the architectural and design community.  Asking what sort of ‘experience’ they wanted in a design resource studio - the solution was Material Lab, which opened its doors in January 2006.
Material Lab has become an established design resource studio in London where people can explore and be inspired by a huge range of materials, such as wall coatings, ceramics, glass, wallpaper, wood, carpet tiles, eco-resins and fabrics - and representing a wide range of partners, including Formica, Karndean, Kydex, Tektura - and now Armourcoat for 2013.

Shop-fitting organisations

Armourcoat have joined The National Association of Shopfitters (NAS) in the UK and The Association for Retail Environments (ARE) in the USA - to support the launch of ArmourFX.

The NAS is the only UK trade association that exclusively represents, promotes and is dedicated to service the needs of the shopfitting and interior contracting sector; within the global sphere of construction and has been doing so successfully since 1919.  Today’s shopfitting market embraces much more than just shops. Whether it be retail, financial services, leisure, hotels, restaurants, museums, travel or any interior requiring the appropriate level of skill and innovation look no further than the NAS logo.

The ARE is a US non-profit trade association advancing the retail environments industry and its member companies. These international leaders in the retail built environment include store fixture suppliers, retail design firms, suppliers of visual merchandising products, suppliers of materials and equipment for the industry, and service providers such as 3PLs and installers.  ARE is sponsor of GlobalShop (April 16-18, McCormick Place Convention Center, Chicago, USA) the largest store design and at-retail marketing show in the United States. It is the only place where retailers and brand marketers can shop over 10,000 products and visit more than 900 suppliers in one location.  Visit Armourcoat at booth #2049.

Ductal® Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC) has been specified on the TNG (The New Generation) £3.5m new-build youth centre in the borough of Lewisham.

This state-of-the-art building, funded by the government's MyPlace scheme, will provide a range of vocational, leisure and support services for the young people of Sydenham.  The youth centre will include a climbing wall, training kitchen and cafe, multi-use games area, recording studios, health clinic, dance and performances spaces, teaching spaces and IT suite.  RCKa Architects worked closely with young people from the area to develop designs for the building, and contractor Mansell are now working on site to complete the project for an opening in Spring 2013.
